How Vega plans your week (and why she is so cautious)
Vega only plans seven days at a time and starts by asking how you are. Here are the rules she follows.
Vega, Tempora's coach, does not give you a sixteen-week plan. She prepares only the next seven days and, first, asks you a few questions: energy, sleep, mood, niggles, whether you have been ill, how last week went and which days you can run, plus one or two more depending on your level.
The rules she never breaks
Volume rises by at most 5–10 % over your average of the last four weeks (less if she still has little data about you). Every fourth week of building is a recovery week. The long run grows no more than 10 % over the longest you have run recently, and there are never two hard days in a row.
If you tell us you have pain that does not go away or gets worse, Vega plans no runs that week and recommends seeing a professional. If you have been ill, you start with two rest days.
Why one week at a time
Because your real week rarely looks like the planned one. With each check-in and what you have logged, the next week adapts to how you really are.
